- Non-porous with a smooth surface and hand-crafted edges
- Made of natural slate formed 400 million years ago, a fine-grained rock derived from an original shale-type sedimentary rock comprised of clay or volcanic ash
- Since slate is a natural material, each piece will have its own characteristics of color, marks, and lines
- Can be cleaned with olive oil, which will darken it, or with a cloth and warm water dry thoroughly. Not dishwasher safe!
- Do not use abrasive cleansers, vinegar or lemon-based cleansers
